To Thrive, or not to Thrive by Ann Bennett

Thrive: to grow or develop successfully : to flourish or succeed

Think about it, to Thrive, isn’t that what we all want? The tricky part is, there is no single formula that will promise you will flourish. It’s different for everyone. What works for one to create that sense of enoughness, and sense of satisfaction and fulfillment, might not work for another.

For me, my greatest joy is to connect with the people I love. (And I love a lot of people.) But what does that have to do with Success and thriving? Our society seems to define success as money and power. But as Arianna Huffington talks about in her new book, Thrive, Success is creating a life of well-being, wisdom and wonder.

Many of us are seen with our phones out constantly checking our facebook, emails and texts. We think this is being connected, but, it really isn’t. It’s being distracted. Our society relishes in sleep deprivation and workaholism. We work harder and harder until the natural outcome of heart attack or stroke either kills us or slows us down. What happened to 8 plus hours of sleep and slowing down and enjoying life?

Thrive. It’s time to redefine success and create a life of well-being, wisdom and wonder. Curiosity is one my favorite things. I’m off to bed, for at least eight hours, and awaking to a surprise-me-God-moment, tomorrow.

ZzzzZ Out.
