Weather you are aware of it or not you are talking and saying nasty things to yourself all day long, from the moment you wake up to the time your head hits the pillow at night. We all have these old programs and tapes that we got from our childhood. Here are just a few of mine: I am not good enough, I am so stupid, I will never get it right, I am always in trouble, I am on my own—alone. Saying things like “I don’t know” and “You Can’t Make Me” are conversations of a 2 year old or a 5 five year old. Ever stop to notice what you say to yourself all day long?
When building a business all the self critical voices just rush in to keep you in overwhelm and procrastination perfectionism.
You can be doing all the right strategies and marketing tactics and things just aren’t happening or not as fast as you want them to but you just can’t figure out why. Check yourself. Could be your mind frick canceling out all your best efforts. Here’s some new Language to replace some of the stuff that gets in your way….
Instead of saying I am trying to…Say I am in the process of
Instead of saying but…Say Up until now
Instead of Hope for…Say We are positioning ourselves to
It’s called a practice for a reason. So, no judgement or criticism here. What you resist persists, so just notice what you are saying out loud and lovingly change it. Be aware of your words they are powerful creators. Oh, while you are at it, stop saying “I am broke”or “I don’t have the money”. Instead say “I am not choosing to spend my money that way, right now” or “I am a millionaire in Lag- Time”. You are not broken in any way but whole perfect and complete, just the way you are.
This is where the rubber meets the road. Your action step for this week is to keep a running list of the negative thoughts in your head and the things you say out loud that are unsupportive or diminishing to you. Write them down and then turn them around into a positive.
