This week while preparing for my keynote for eWomen LA …the night before I had an anxiety attack. What most people don’t know about me is I have fairly severe stage fright. I called a good friend that loves and supports me. She is an seasoned performer and said to me “Ann, you have to stop obsessing about tomorrow. Take a bath and get some good sleep. In the morning enjoy the moment, practice being completely present to all the beauty around you. Stay out of your head and stay present.” As I practiced being present, I started to calm down and get grounded. It’s not about me…it’s about being there and bringing “it” for other people.
What practices do you have that calm you down and lower your anxiety under pressure? If you don’t have any try breathing and staying present.
If you do have a practice that helps you express yourself, please leave a comment below and share what it is.
We all need a little help from our friends.
PS. The talk was a raving success.
