Biggest Lesson of September 11

Biggest Lesson of September 11

My BFF called me this week and said, “I wish you were going to be with me, on 9/11.”

I have been so focused on—

MY business,

MY life, and

MY work.

Me! Me! Me!

I forgot about her.

We were together that clear crisp September morning walking out of a gourmet coffee shop in the Village, with lattes in hand. We were righteously bickering and I was pissed off. Then the unthinkable happened. We looked up…the first plane crashed into the World Trade Center. By the end of that timeless-nightmarish day, we had lost 150 friends and colleagues.

My DNA changed forever. My glamorous life at Vogue didn’t matter anymore. All I wanted to do was give back, make a contribution and have a life that mattered. I stopped thinking, “someday I’m going to…”, and, “when I have enough money I will…”

Instead, I got fiercely focused on right now.
What does my heart want for me right now?

So I ask you, what have you been putting off? In your life, or your business? We can spend a lot of time looking at the WHY is my life / business not looking that way I want it to? But really, who cares!? Just stop. Stop doing nothing and START doing something to move yourself towards your dreams and aspirations.

In the end it all comes down to:

Did I live?

Did I love?

Did I matter?

Get Fiercely focused on what matters to you. Play full-out and have the time of your life, no matter what.

I love you! Let’s go change some lives!
